I love seeing the beauty around us and I love capturing it in photographs. Being there and being part of it as it happens makes me happy. I try to record those moments to share with others to allow them to see those moments too, to see the beauty, to feel happy. That is why I get up before sunrise and before everyone else. At those morning hours the world can be yours almost anywhere. That is why I stay late after most kick back and relax on the couch. Blue hour and night light can be magical! That is why I head out into the crisp morning air when temperatures drop below 0°F while others turn their thermostats up. That is why, and that is how.
Photography has been my passion for years and I would like to share some of it with you on these pages. Living in Buffalo, New York, I call Western New York my home region. As such, that is where most of my photographs are from. I specialize in natural landscapes and cityscapes, however, also enjoy exploring the world of patterns, textures, abstracts.
Since 2015, I have been primarily focused on old-fashioned film photography across multiple formats from 35mm to large format. I enjoy the process very much, develop and scan film myself, and also love printing traditional wet darkroom photographs. Since that is not weird enough, I also like to change things around with alternative photography methods like pinhole photography and printing cyanotypes. In these times full of advanced technology it is satisfying to go from capture to print without a computer, and sometimes even without electricity!
