It was an early fall and a cloudy start to the day and I was out early before sunrise walking through the woods of Emery Park south of East Aurora, NY. While my focus was mostly on water and foliage nature surprised me and suddenly altered my plans. When I saw the patch of mostly straight trees in front of me with the early light filtering through them this idea was born. I wanted to capture how this autumn morning felt in a single photo. I liked how this abstract shows the verticals of the trees, the still mostly green foliage with subtle hints of yellow, and the brown of the forest floor. All of the unimportant details are gone in this abstract version.
