It was an early winter with an already solid dose of snow. It was a late afternoon in Orchard Park, New York. I wanted to capture the mood of the hefty snow pile up of early December. The I walked through the woods for a bit and an idea was born. Two ideas in fact. How about a forest abstract of winter? And how about comparing it to a similar concept from early fall? This winter version really simplifies things quite a bit: strong tree trunk verticals surrounded by a cloudy sky above and a snowy carpet below. Nothing else to distract the eye.
