The Full Wolf Moon rising over the illuminated Horseshoe Falls, Niagara Falls. Full Wolf moon is the full moon of January.

The illumination of Niagara Falls lights up both the Canadian Falls (Horseshoe Falls photographed here) and the American Falls. Its timing varies throughout the year and usually starts at dusk. The colors vary among red, blue, purple, white, green, and possibly others.

Winter offers a very unique view of this wonderful waterfall. There are fewer people around compared to summer, almost everything is dressed in white, it is very chilly. it is all so much more intense!

The Horseshoe Falls, frequently referred to as the Canadian Falls, located partially in the United States and partially in Canada, is where most of the Niagara River flows and falls down. In its center, water rushes at 20 miles per hour and a depth of almost 10 feet. The tallest point is 174 feet, and the depth of the river at the base is 184 feet. This wonder of nature is a good example of how much impact people can have - the volume of water is highly regulated by the two hydroelectric power plants, with the most volume going over in daytime during the peak of the tourist season.
