Shale Creek of Chestnut Ridge Park

Shale Creek of Chestnut Ridge Park

A quiet place on Shale Creek in the woods of the Chestnut Ridge Park. The shallow but rapid water motion in the foreground caught my eye here. While the shale rock bed was coming through clearly there were a few faster moving streams of water that were making the water less transparent. Using a long exposure further accentuated that. Combine that with the nice mossy boulder and the tiny cascades of water and I could stare into the creek forever.

Chestnut Ridge Park is in the town of Orchard Park in the Buffalo Metro area. Shale Creek is the same creek that the beautiful Eternal Flame Falls is on.
