Compared to Buffalo, NY and the surrounding area, the higher elevation of the Allegany State Park meant colors at least a week ahead, past peak, and to disappear quickly. This day was perfect though, with sun playing a peek-a-boo and selectively highlighting areas of woods, alleys lining the park roads, and as here, even a covered bridge, with beautiful light.

Hang the photo on your walls and you will preserve the warm light and colors all year long; to look at on cold winter days or long winter nights.

Allegany State Park, located in Western New York, is divided into two areas: The Red House area, and the Quaker area. The now 64,800-acre was established in 1921 and offers 18 hiking trails, and 375 cabins, 150 winterized.
