I've long known that the Sturgeon Point Marina can get very charming in winter, especially in really low temperatures and high winds. The splashing water launches water droplets in the air and the wind carries them over the pier where they get attached to the railing creating wonderful icicles reaching all the way to the concrete turning the railing into an icy wall.
When a cold front rolled over the lake and Western New York with high winds turning Lake Erie into a raging ocean, I knew just where to go.
