Bird Island Pier offers a wonderful walk pretty much in the middle of the mighty Niagara River, separating out Black Rock Canal from the river. Too bad it tends to suffer in bad weather and repairs cannot always be made quickly. It has been a very long time since I was able to walk the full length of the pier. I hope it will be possible again one day.
