Blue Moon over Buffalo

The skyline of Buffalo, NY under a Blue Moon of 2012. Several things came together for this photo: city lights during blue hour after sunset, full moon rising over the city, and since it was the second full moon during August 2012, it came with the special title Blue Moon.

Moon does attract attention, doesn't it? All of the full moons have their own name (the first full moon of August was Full Sturgeon Moon; see my Full Moon Names) topped with the Blue Moon. moon eclipse, moonrise, moonset, ... Coming up in September is Full Harvest Moon.
