The day was just starting over the Officers Club of the historic Fort Niagara, Youngstown, NY. The light was still tamed and allowed the lamp over the entrance and stairs shine brightly an point the way. The sprinkle of remaining fallen leaves, as well as the bare trees above offered a clear indication of the late fall season.
The current Officers Club building is a short walk from the historic Fort Niagara. It opened in 1938 replacing the original structure that burnt down. It's design is inspired by the French Castle in the Old Fort. Old Fort Niagara and Fort Niagara State Park are located in Youngstown, NY, just north of Lewiston, NY, a short drive from Niagara Falls, and about 45 minutes from downtown Buffalo.
