USS Little Rock at Daybreak

A cold late winter morning, ice freshly melted, Buffalo River water almost like a mirror, night still dark. But look, the southeast sky is starting the first signs of daylight! And under that sky the illuminated USS Little Rock and USS Croaker looked just great!

USS Little Rock was a Cleveland class cruiser, later converted to Little Rock class guided missile cruiser. Commissioned June 17, 1945 at Cramp Ship building Company, Philadelphia. Decommissioned November 1976.

USS Croaker is a Gato Class submarine commissioned on April 21, 1944 at Electric Boat Company, Groton, CT. Decommissioned December 20, 1971.
