Karlštejn Castle Tower and Walls, Tea Toned Cyanotype
The main tower and walls of the Karlštejn castle, an original hand-made 5" x 7" cyanotype print from the Czech Republic.
It lacks the traditional cyanotype blue tones as it has been bleached and toned in white tea and the tones of tannins replaced the original blues, providing the print with a different vintage look.
Photographed with a 35mm Nikon FE camera on Kodak Double-X 5222 black and white negative film. Chemically printed on a hand-coated watercolor paper (Shizen Design Professional Grade Cold Press 100% Recycled) using the cyanotype process invented in 1842. It was then bleached and toned in green tea.
