John Brown Fort, Wine Tannin Toned Cyanotype, Harpers Ferry, West Virginia

John Brown Fort, Toned Cyanotype

John Brown's Fort located at the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers. An original hand-made 5" x 7" cyanotype print from Harpers Ferry, West Virginia.

This version lacks the traditional blue cyanotype tones as it has been bleached and toned in wine tannin, providing the print with a different vintage look.

Photographed with a medium format Rolleiflex Automat camera on Cinestill BwXX (Kodak Double-X) black and white negative film.

Chemically printed on a hand-coated watercolor paper (Shizen Design Professional Grade Cold Press 100% Recycled) using the cyanotype process invented in 1842.
