There are folk songs in the Czech Republic about the fields, crops, or animals one can see while roaming the landscape. But maybe the most famous one is Už koníček pádí by Waldemar Matuška. There is a line in there "a hospod jak máku", meaning there are as many pubs as there are poppy seeds. Now, to an outsider that may not mean much. That is the thing about similes, for the most part they are not international.

Based on FAOSTAT, Czech Republic is the world's largest producer of poppy seed in the world with 12,814 tons in 2012! And that is not per capita, that is total. Not bad for a country of 10.5 million people. The second is Spain with half the production and population of 47 million.
