Stumps in a swamp in the Lake Champlain area, Vermont (VT).

The cloudy and rainy day provided mixed conditions for landscape photography. At times, the heavy rain clouds looked great over the lake and land, and at other times, the solid grey in the sky with little definition and pouring rain provided little inspiration.

However, this swamp did not allow for doubt. The only question on my mind was how to do the randomly scattered stumps justice in a relatively small two-dimensional photograph.
