Lakeshore Grass at Sunrise
A simple moody photograph was what I was going for here on the shore of Lake Michigan. A sunrise photographed from the Illinois Beach State Park through the grass growing along the beach. The strong back light turned the blades of grass into nice deep silhouettes contrasting the glowing sky behind.
Illinois Beach State Park is located in Zion, IL about 50 miles north of downtown Chicago, IL. It offers beautiful sunrise views across the lake, sand dunes, marsh lands, and oak forests with savanna-like appearance. A beautiful place with much to explore!
