Swirl under the Fall, a Waterfall in Shenandoah National Park, Virginia in the fall

Swirl under the Fall

The colors of the fall and the whites of falling water, what a combination! Here, the long exposure not only turns the water into a beautiful veil it also shows the direction of the flow under the waterfall as the fallen leaves swirl around in a whirlpool.

Shenandoah National Park was established in December 1935. It's main and unique feature is a 105-miles long Skyline Drive along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia offering views of the Shenandoah Valley to the west and Piedmont Plain to the east.
