The International Railroad Bridge behind Trees

The International Railroad Bridge behind Trees

As the morning progressed on the Unity Island the blue tones gave way to a warmer look as the sun was trying to pierce through the clouds behind me. I really liked how the architecture of the bridge contrasted the curved f the tree in the foreground.

The International Railroad Bridge over the Niagara River between Buffalo, New York, United States and Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada. It consists of two sections. One is in this photo and takes the railroad between Canada and Unity Island (previously Squaw Island) on the Niagara River. The other section to the left connects the island and the mainland over the Black Rock Canal. Both sections have a swing span to facilitate boat passage. The one pictured here is no longer in use. The bridge opened on November 3, 1873.
