A leafless branch reaching over the freshly frozen Green Lake at the beginning of winter, a season that would be around for a few months.

Green Lake is in the Yates Park, Orchard Park, New York, just a few miles south of Buffalo, NY. The lake, the park, and some surrounding land were donated to Orchard Park by a local businessman Harry Yates at the beginning of the twentieth century.
