Cormorant Pirates on Shipwreck of La Grande Hermine by QEW in Jordan Harbor, Canada

The Pirates

Cormorants seem to be the biggest benefactors of this shipwreck sitting along QEW in Jordan Harbor on Lake Ontario, where she first came in 1997. Unfortunately, a 2003 fire destroyed the wooden cabin and the ship is now a total wreck.

La Grande Hermine (The Big Weasel) was built in Quebec in 1914. She started as St. Lawrence River ferry and changed her purpose several times before finding her way to Jordan Harbor, which became her unintentional final resting place.
