The warm light of the sunrise is deceiving! This was not a warm morning by any means. The thermometer hovered tight around zero degrees Fahrenheit and the snow was creaking under one's feet. Air felt fresh. Everything was quiet, no one anywhere. A great moment to enjoy and photograph!

And then the sun found its way through the cloud layer on the horizon and over the frozen Green Lake and lit the sky and the snow layer on the lake in beautiful gold glow providing warmth at least for the eyes. Walk in, sit down on the bench, and enjoy!

Green Lake is in the Yates Park, Orchard Park, New York, just a few miles south of Buffalo, NY. The lake, the park, and some surrounding land were donated to Orchard Park by a local businessman Harry Yates at the beginning of the twentieth century.
