Half & Half

Half & Half

One tree trunk yet different from each side. One half full of dark patterns resembling a topographic map and one half almost clear with the transition being rather abrupt. While completely natural it looked so unnatural. Presented in black and white here to highlight the pattern and the light and dark interplay.

The usual photo subjects at the park are the falls or the creek but clearly one benefit of repeated visits is that ones eyes can wander beyond the obvious.

Akron Falls is part of the Erie County Park System located along Murder Creek in the town of Akron, not far from Buffalo, NY. It offers two natural waterfalls, Upper & Lower Akron Falls.
