An instant eye-catcher, this tree's trunk drew me in and I did not let go until I found the area I liked the most. The surface reminds me of a relief map with the dark contour lines curving around with the knots forming the peaks on this special topographic map.

The usual photo subjects at the park are the falls or the creek. On this particular visit, it was this abstract that left a lasting impression.

Akron Falls is part of the Erie County Park System located along Murder Creek in the town of Akron, not far from Buffalo, NY. It offers two natural waterfalls, Upper & Lower Akron Falls.
