I love the cliffs on the shore of Lake Erie, they seem to transform the Western New York scene into a tropical paradise. This one, however, is in my back yard. This evening, sun was hidden in clouds all the way till sunset time. Then, it peeked through an opening on the horizon and light found its way to the cliffs across the water making them glisten. It lasted only a few minutes and the rocks went dark even before the sun fully set. What a moment!

Hamburg Beach, a very nice sandy beach on the shore of Lake Erie in Hamburg Town Park, Hamburg, NY. The park also includes a boat launch and a year-round fitness center. And in winter, it becomes a launch pad for ice fishing expeditions - that is during solid winters when the lake freezes solid and turns into a frozen tundra. In 1914, Locksley Park Company donated this land to the Town of Hamburg for its citizens recreational use.
