With autumn here, night temperatures have dropped close to freezing and the season of fog kicked in. Whether it's generally foggy or not the warmer water and cooler air create low layer of fog floating over bodies of water, like in this photo from Birdsong Park. The rising sun usually burns the fog off rather quickly and views like this are available only for several minutes. In this photo the rising sun lit the fog from behind creating a gold and copper colored glow over the pond. Some light even spilled over the resting geese. They usually take off and head for dry land shortly after sunrise to warm up. Another wonderful morning provided by Mother Nature!

Birdsong Park in Orchard Park, NY, offers several nature trails with boardwalks over the wetlands and a creek. There are also several ponds with swamp like vegetation around them providing home to many birds and frogs. Geese also like the ponds.
