Michigan Avenue Bridge, Buffalo, NY

Michigan Avenue Bridge is a lift bridge over the Buffalo River. It was built in 1960 to replace a 1930 bridge damaged by a runaway ship Tewksburry.

A little further down Michigan Avenue there used to be another bridge over the City Ship Canal providing connectivity between the inner and outer harbors, however, it was never replaced after a freighter accident in 1964.
