The Steel Frame of the Ohio Street Bridge, Buffalo, NY

This Ohio Street vertical lift bridge over the Buffalo River was completed in 1962 and is tower-driven with the moving machinery located in the two towers. The original Ohio Street bridge was build in 1866 and was a swing bridge. It was replaced in 1904 with a bascule (seesaw) bridge.
