North Grand Island Bridge under the Cover of Dusk, connecting Grand Island and Niagara Falls over the Niagara River.

North Grand Island Bridge under the Cover of Dusk

The weather was up and down on this day. The heavy clouds to the west blocked any chance for a direct sight of the sunset. However, that provided for a different, more dramatic backdrop for the bridge. And with a dose of patience after the sunset, the street lights on the bridge and city lights behind at Niagara Falls came on and lit the horizon up for a nice contrast against the dark clouds.

As the South Grand Island Bridge (Photo 1, 2), the North Grand Island Bridge consists of twin truss arch bridges, one opened 1935 and the other 1965.
