Ohio Street Bridge, a vertical lift bridge crossing the Buffalo River, Buffalo, NY.

Ohio Street Bridge, Buffalo, NY

This Ohio Street vertical lift bridge over the Buffalo River was completed in 1962 and is tower-driven with the moving machinery located in the two towers. The original Ohio Street bridge was build in 1866 and was a swing bridge. It was replaced in 1904 with a bascule (seesaw) bridge.
