Chest, Luray Valley Museum

Chest, Luray Valley Museum

This close up brings the photograph closer to a thought-provoking abstract. There are keyholes so it must be a door. Door to what? Why two keyholes? An added security feature? Old peeling paint full of patterns and textures. If only this chest could talk. It looks like it was through a lot.

The Luray Valley Museum shares a parking lot with Luray Caverns and several other attractions conveniently located at a single location (The Car and Carriage Caravan Museum, Toy Town Junction, The Stonyman Mining Company Gem Sluice, The Garden Maze, Rope Adventure Park). After visiting the caverns this is a great place to spend some time mostly outside. You will time travel back to the 1800s and have an opportunity to slow down and think about the lifestyle comparison. See if you can soak the whole place in without peeking at your cell phone!
