After a late winter start we woke up to a white New Year's Day in Orchard Park, NY. And the Chestnut Ridge Park look gorgeous! Most areas were not even walked yet and untouched pristine snow laid everywhere. The winter hike was a perfect recipe to get some fresh air after too many days indoors.

The Commissioner's Cabin never looked better either! It started snowing again and light wind was tossing all of the snow around creating a light whiteout through which the cabin look dreamier. And I could not have asked for more that the lamp in front of the door being turned on!

Chestnut Ridge Park is an Erie County park in Orchard Park, New York with opportunities to pursue many outdoor activities. There are tennis courts by the casino, and a sledding hill for some winter fun. Children's playgrounds are scattered throughout the park. There's also a baseball diamond with bleachers. And on the sledding hill by the casino you will also find the start of an 18-hole disc golf course tracking the park ravines and mostly hidden in the woods. You can also go for a run or a bike ride through the park, or just walk. Picnic shelters are also available by reservation.
