International Railway Bridge over the NIagara River, connecting Buffalo, NY, United States, and Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada.

International Railway Bridge over the Niagara River, Buffalo, NY

An international railroad bridge over the Niagara River between Buffalo, New York, United States and Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada. It consists of two sections. One is in this photo and takes the railroad between Canada and Squaw Island on the Niagara RIver. The other section to the right connects the island and the mainland over the Black Rock Canal. Both sections have a swing span to facilitate boat passage. The one pictured here on the right side of the bridge is no longer in use. The bridge opened on November 3, 1873.

This was on a beautiful June summer night after a hot summer day. The breeze over the water cooled things down pleasantly and made the sunset even better. Passing boats, music playing from across the river. And then, ... June bugs struck, but that is another story.
