Black Rock Canal Park Daybreak
Not too many people visit the shore of Lake Eire or the banks of the Niagara River to watch a sunrise. These are prime sunset destinations with views heading west. However, if one pays attention, even sunrises can trigger a beautiful glow in the western sky. Sure, it's a lot more subtle than a sunset or the wild color show about 15 minutes after a sunset, but that gives it its own beauty. It was a cloudy morning with a clear potential for success or a bust if the clouds managed to obstruct the sun completely. And then it happened for a very brief moment. Amidst all of the deep blues a pink glow showed came to life, faded, and disappeared, all taking maybe 2 minutes start to finish.
The Black Rock Canal Park has recently received a significant overhaul making it much more "user friendly" and adding to the number of Buffalo's waterfront properties that were dramatically improved in the last several years for public's enjoyment. Its really amazing to see the wave of so many positive changes in a relatively short time. I hope the trend continues!
