Do You Know Your Back Yard? ... More Waterfalls at Emery Park

HarriganHarrigan's Falls at Emery Park Did you ever try to draw a 10-mile circle on a map with the center being where you live and then hit the Internet to see what's within the circle that you have not seen yet? It could be local parks, state parks, nature preserves, but also different buildings in a city, really anything.

If you have not, give it a try. It does not matter how long you have lived in your current place, just give it a try. I bet you will be surprised. At least I keep surprising myself as this exercise is something I like to repeat. There is always more, always something new. It is truly amazing how much there is within a 10-mile radius. And should you ever truly run out, try 15, or 20 miles. Still quick to get to and visit repeatedly and the number of places must be just about endless.

This is an example of a place I've lived 10 miles away from for over 10 years. Yes, that's how long it took me to find this beautiful local park with its beautiful gentle waterfalls. Now Ive been back many times over just a few months and intend on keeping it up that way until I can say I kind of know the place.

Definitely worth some advance scouting. The waterfalls are small but beautiful, some easier to get to than others. Not sure I recall any photogenic bridges for portrait posing though. A few nice alleys though that are pretty all year round. The best of luck, have fun, Dan

Thanks Dan....I grew up in S. Wales and have spent a lot of time at Emery Park, but couldn't remember a bridge or whereabouts the falls are located.....thinking of wedding pictures in October 2015 for my daughter.....thanks for the help.....we will have to do a little exploring!

Hello DV! Thanks for stopping by. The address for Emery Park is Emery Park, 2084 Emery Rd, South Wales, NY 14139. There are some rock bridges in this park but since I was not focused on them I can't really share much detail. Only one tiny one comes to mind now that I took pictures of.

Where is this in the park? Do you know if there are any bridges (stone, wooden) in the park?
