Nikon FE235mm Film Camera We were on our way to Ithaca, NY and there it was. A sign pointed right and said "Newfield Covered Bridge". Many moons ago, we actively searched for and visited covered bridges on our short and long roadtrips and this one just showed up out of nowhere with no planning involved. Of course I made the right turn! I was hoping it would not be one of those tourist traps where a sign takes you on a not so short detour. However, this one was literally right there and it was not just a preserved museum not to be touched. It was still operational with a road through and we had to take it to get to the small parking area by an overlook..

Yep, we got to drive through it, walk through it, enjoy it from the overlook, and of course, photograph it. While the rest of this trip was in color, this vintage bridge definitely deserved to be photographed in black and white. As I am typing this, I am wondering how I still did not spend time with this negative in the darkroom. Hopefully, I'll be able to show of some prints soon.
