Mother Nature is amazing. Each natural setting offers so much more than just one thing. Go to see a waterfall and you can bet there's more to the place than just falling water.
This particular morning I came to the Birdsong Park for morning frost. It was supposed to be rather cold and sunny and I wanted to grab some shots of the frost on grass and on some colorful leaves. As a backup I thought of the ponds at the park for a rising sun shot. And later, the sun might be thawing the frost.
Everything looked beautiful, better than I could have imagined. There were groups of trees in full color and others still wearing green. And there were nice reflections to be found in the ponds.
There was also a flock of geese still waiting for the day to start. That unexpected opportunity kept me busy for a while as I was trying to find a good way to capture both the geese and the colorful trees rising over the pond. Despite my efforts, I managed to scare them off eventually.
It was then that I decided to go and see one more pond before the sun rises and I settle on a sunrise scene. I should add that frost was light this morning and as such I was working on Plan B (I found more frost at Green Lake later on).
To get from the first lake to the second, I had to pass through this section of the trail linking the two ponds. And that is where Mother Nature gave me Plan C! I've mentioned it on my pages many times and know I am going to many more times. Planning is great and necessary but embracing whatever is thrown at you is as important at least!
Have fun shooting whether you're executing your own plans or those of Nature!
