Taking advantage of a cloudy day by shooting textures, patterns, abstracts, and colors. A rusty metal plate on a bascule bridge over the Buffalo River, Buffalo, NY.Rust on Bridge

When it's solid overcast, what's there to shoot? Well, patterns, abstracts, and colors come to mind. Here, the rust provided both rich colors and an interesting pattern.

The other thing to consider on a cloudy day could of course be long exposures of water, preferably with no sky in the frame.

Don't let the gloom bring you down, have fun!
