Spring in the back yard
In Sensor dirt and cleaning, I talked about my (unsuccessful) attempts to clean up the dirty sensor on my Nikon D600. After a few weeks at the Nikon service center, I have my camera back just in time to capture the beautiful colors of spring. It's really refreshing after the long rule of white.
When I shipped the camera to Nikon I searched the Internet a bit and found lots of rumors talking about a potential technical defect causing the oils on the moving parts inside the camera splattering on the low pass filter.
The packing slip did not describe the reasons at all but despite me sending the camera in for cleaning NIkon replaced the shutter assembly. While the repair took a while due to parts hold it was all done under warranty at no charge to me, to which I can only say thank you! So, if you're in the same boat with the camera, find those warranty papers and send it in. Well worth the shipping costs!
Here, some back yard spring colors with the help of backlight of the setting sun. What a wonderful world!
Have fun capturing the changes of seasons and returning colors and may your sensor remain clean!
