New Year AbstractThe Future - A Refractograph I could not decide what photograph to include in my New Year wishes to all of you. Should I pick my most favorite one from 2014? Should I pick a most popular one? Should I do a collage of the year? I really liked the collage idea as that is always a nice summary of the year that can also serve as a trigger for many thoughts about the next year. Where to go? What to photograph? What type of photos was absent in my 2014 portfolio?

For some reason, I did not feel that was the way to go ...

So here's a simple abstract created with one camera without a lens, a wine glass, and a flash light. The light refracts on the foot of the glass and is captured by the sensor of the camera. By moving the glass a millimeter at a time and slowly spinning it around the image cast by the glass changes.

What does the image depict? Well, that is where you come in. It is completely up to you to decipher the light rays and turn the abstract and the thoughts  into something specific, into reality. And it is pretty much the same when it comes to the New Year!
