North Boston GarageNikon FE, Ilford Delta 100
Today's post is a follow up to the last two (Road Trip: Route 66 Part I, Santa Rosa, NM, Road Trip: Route 66 Part II, Santa Rosa, NM). That is the theme continues here. However, the photographs are much closer to home in the southern suburbs of Buffalo, NY. Both had been on my mental list for a while, especially the second photo here. And 2016 turned out to be the year when I finally acted. Maybe the pieces needed to fall in place first. It was not until January of this year that I went couple decades back and started shooting and developing black and white film again. And for locations like this, what could work better?
In the first photo, we're visiting North Boston Garage with its gorgeous classic look, just like many of the places along the Mother Road. Unlike there, this place is not abandoned though. It is just the opposite being constantly surrounded with many cars needing attention. Even for this photo, I had to make sure I did not go too wide as I wanted all of the focus to be on the classic look, not on the not so classic cars.

The second photo however is abandoned and has been as far back as I remember. I passed it many times and always made a mental note to return as I was heading towards a different destination. And it took me years to make that happen.
I only packed my film camera, the Nikon FE, and made a round trip through North Boston to this location to cover them both in a single evening for a single story.
Now writing this, many other places are running through my mind that I have notes in my memory to go back to, and many of them will benefit from the same capture method. I can't wait to visit those too and share them with you soon
Enjoy the beauty that surrounds you! (#etbtsy)
