Rocks & water. Long exposure shot at sunrise at Murder Creek.Rocks & WaterLong exposure at Murder Creek

Rock & Water - Morning on Murder Creek: An early morning this Saturday, out of bed at 4:30. Two destinations as options, Akron Falls wins. Not that it is a prime sunrise destination since the sun rises over the falls but a friend of mine was there last week and reported pretty much perfect conditions. Enough water for the full Lower Akron Falls including the top section. More on my results later, ... and some waterfall shots also later.

Here's some close up fun I had down Murder Creek as I was on the way back to my car. One thing I tried to change today was a shorter shutter speed. I still wanted to get the water flow blurred but not overdo it, leaving enough definition in the flow. I think I may have had enough of the blur it all to milk approach for a while :-) But who knows, ...

Lots of mosquitoes this morning! A symptom of the extremely warm winter?

So what I am trying to say here is that I think it's a good idea to follow the grand expansive vistas with something more up close and personal. Many times, I end up with photos I prefer more than what I initially came to photograph. The small details can surprise so much!

Get closer and have fun!
