Time for an Abstract

Abstract out of tree barkTree Bark Abstract While enjoying the spring from sunrises to sunsets and photographing the colors returning to landscapes, trees getting dressed again, meadows putting on flower make up, and more very real natural changes, I also enjoyed getting lost in something less specific.

Here, I've started with a frame filled with tree bark photographed up close and pushed it through my favorite simple abstracting process. I like doing this since it turns and ordinary object to something more mysterious, something not so easy to see through, something that may keep one's attention a bit longer while trying to figure out what it really is in the photo.

Spring is beautiful, whether you look at wide expansive landscapes or tiny natural details.

Have fun dreaming up your favorite realistic or abstract images!
