Sunrise over Gallagher PierBuffalo Outer Harbor
A little flashback to summer today, well before the white stuff started flying. This particular August morning was very enjoyable for me. I came to enjoy a full moon set over the lake and photographed it along with the Cargill Pool Grain Elevator - wow, I have not shared that photo yet either. I came in the nick of time as the moon started fading in the haze over the lake. By the time it reached the horizon I could only discern it thanks to knowing exactly where to look. It was pretty much invisible otherwise.
But that was not the end of the photo op. I walked along the boardwalk a bit, tried various low and high angles, took a few photographs of the garbage cans, and enjoyed having the place to myself.
Then, the eastern sky started brightening up and getting some very nice color. That prompted me to try something new at this location. For the most part, I come to the lake shore for the views across Lake Erie, whether during the day or to witness and photograph the wonderful sunsets. Now, I found myself with my back to the lake looking east! I took quite a few pre-sunrise as well as sunrise photographs including either one or both of the roofs of the pier. You can see one of them here. Feel free to click it to get a larger view.
Thanks for stopping by, have fun!
