Shenandoah: The Lonely Tree

Previously from Shenandoah National Park and Shenandoah Valley: Shenandoah: Trouble with ColorShenandoah: The Details or the Wide and Grand?Shenandoah: The Skyline Drive View in Autumn.

There are many clichés in photography, the lonely tree being one of them. But how do you resist? This one was ahead of the season with branches already bare, yet standing in the middle of a warm colored mountain meadow at the top of Blue Ridge Mountains in Shenandoah National Park. It looked like a bald wise man watching over the rest of the meadow. Needless to say, cliché or not, the car went on the shoulder, camera in my hands,  the polarizer on the lens, and this photo on the memory card!
