First 2017 SnowChestnut Ridge Park When nature turned on the lake effect snow machine for the first time for the 2017 winter season only one place came to mind. I had fun with the same event there last year and it was like a magnet. So rather then trying to come up with an alternative I headed to the Chestnut Ridge park to see the winter wonderland in the woods and by that cottage hiding among the trees.

I got lucky as the snow was coming down pretty hard and that was what I came for.. The conditions were just about perfect! Well at least I thought so. But judging by the empty parking lot maybe others had a different opinion about perfect conditions. I certainly did not struggle with crowds getting in my shot.

I've been trying to accompany my photographs with the occasional video. And once I felt I've captured the mood in a still photograph I've recorded one here too, and I was happy I timed it right. You will see why. I left the original sound in the video. If you can't have sound turned on or if you don't like the sounds of wind, please, mute your speakers. The video did not seem right without the sound though.
