Back into the darkroom today for some traditional black and white wet prints. And for the subject matter we're not going too far from the home front today. The Birdsong Park is right here in Orchard Park, NY almost within a stone's throw for me.

The park has several walking paths and has something to offer in all seasons. When foliage is not present, it just begs for a black and white treatment. And that's exactly what I did on this day. Had a Yashica LM twin lens reflex camera loaded with Fomapan 400 in my hand and looked for interesting features that would look great under the wonderful blue sky with some clouds around for added interest.

To help the sky stand out better I've placed an orange filter on the taking lens. That darkens the blues while leaving the white clouds alone.

The camera shoots 6cm x 6cm (2¼" x 2¼") square format photos on 120 film. You can see the photo as originally shot in my Swamp Trees post. In the darkroom, I decided to do something different. I selected the Ilford 4" x 6" Portfolio Paper, or the Postcard Paper. It allows for a traditional darkroom print on its face while having the standard postcard layout pre-printed on the back.
