Camera, Film, Print - An Analog Still LifeCamera, Film, PrintAn Analog Still Life It's Thursday and it's time for my somewhat regular analog post in the digital world. I had a frustrating time in the darkroom last night so it's nice to be able to review a print that worked out to my satisfaction. What happened yesterday? I am not 100% sure yet but I suspect it was due to me being cheap (again) and trying to use a depleted developer. When it happened to me before, it was obvious - everything would come out gray with absolutely no blacks. My first test yesterday seemed ok but looking at it later it was probably borderline. And it got worse from there.

I'll have to mix a new batch and re-try. If they come out as intended with the same settings, that will be my confirmation. And I have quite a few photos I'd like to print from the last few months. Maybe that will be an advantage of the long winter nights that there will be plenty of time to catch up and print out the warm scenes from summer.

Anyway, just a single print today from our summer Road Trip 2018. We made it to Route 66 several times but this was my first time capturing both the decay and the renaissance there the old-fashioned analog way on black and white film. It definitely provides a different feel and it's up to you all to decide which ones you like better.
