Rocks, Leaves, and Falling WaterShenandoah National Park
After a few beautiful hikes in Shenandoah National Park, expectations were high for every hike involving a waterfall. Still, this trail managed to shatter them all. There were breathtaking images all around me prompting me to get stuck in a single spot for long periods of time. And then when I finally moved it was only a few feet before spotting my next perfect picture. It was just overwhelming.
Maybe I am just too easily pleased or maybe I pay attention to details many just walk right by but I will admit I am not a good hiking partner for those that want to get their miles or steps in. A 5-mile hike can easily be a whole day endeavor with me.
I dare you though, try it at least once. Pick a waterfall or any other place for that matter, take your pictures, but then instead of leaving look again. And again. Really look. How does the foreground relate to the background.? What's along the edges of your frame? What if you move a foot or two to the left or right? Up or down? Back and forth? Look, and take another picture.
Then, in the comfort of your couch, go through the photos a few times and pick your winner. Possibly repeat the review process a week later. Which photo did you like the most? Was it the first or second? Was it one of the later photos as you started the photo dance? Or was it possibly the very last one you took?
